Sokolow Podlaski. A bus hit a woman with two children. A six-year-old girl is dead

On Friday afternoon in Sokołów Podlaski (Mazowieckie) a bus hit a woman with two children crossing a pedestrian crossing. The six-year-old died on the spot. A woman and a second, five-year-old girl, were taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Senior Sergeant Aleksandra Borowska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Sokołów Podlaski informed that the accident took place on Wolności Street around 3.30 p.m.

– Preliminary findings show that the driver of the Warsaw – Sokołów Podlaski bus hit a woman with two children aged six and five. A six-year-old girl died on the spot. A 28-year-old woman and a five-year-old girl were transported to the hospital, the spokeswoman said. “Both are in serious condition,” she added.

Police officers, under the supervision of the prosecutor, are investigating the circumstances of the accident. The 54-year-old bus driver was sober.

Late in the evening, the police specified that the woman was the aunt of the girls, and not, as previously reported, the mother.
