Soldier killed in Salisbury Plain coaching accident named | UK Information

 A soldier who died throughout an Military coaching train on Salisbury Plain has been named.

Personal Jethro Watson-Pickering, of the first Yorks Regiment, was a part of a crew working an armoured automobile close to the village of Enford, Wiltshire, when the fatal accident occurred on Friday.

The 23-year-old was from the village of Boosbeck, in Redcar and Cleveland, North Yorkshire.

Wiltshire Police mentioned a joint investigation with the Well being and Security Government and the Military has been launched.

It had been reported the automobile had overturned.

In a press release, the regiment mentioned: “The Yorkshire Regiment very a lot regrets to announce the demise on Friday 15 October of Pte Jethro Watson-Pickering.

“He was from Boosbeck, Redcar and Cleveland, and was deployed on train on Salisbury Plain.

“The ideas and prayers of the regimental household are together with his household.”

A Wiltshire Police spokesman mentioned: “We’re investigating the circumstances following the demise of a 23-year-old soldier at noon on 15 October.

“He was a part of a crew working an armoured automobile and was participating in a navy train on Salisbury Plain Coaching Space close to the village of Enford.

“That is now a joint investigation between Wiltshire Police, the Military and the Well being and Security Government.

“Our ideas are with the soldier’s household and associates at this troublesome time, and we’d ask that their privateness is revered.”
