Police officers from Ciechanów detained a 40-year-old man suspected of stealing several bottles of branded alcohol. The man was drunk at the time of his arrest.
A few days ago, police officers from Ciechanów received information about the theft of alcohol in one of the supermarkets in the Sońsk commune in the Ciechanów poviat. The perpetrator was caught by the store manager who noticed the 40-year-old trying to take the goods out of the store.
It turned out that it wasn’t the first time. – Within a few days, he stole a total of seven bottles of branded alcohol. The losses were estimated at almost a thousand zlotys, said the police spokeswoman.
At the time of arrest, the enthusiast of expensive drinks had almost 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his body. After sobering up, he was charged. All the thefts were recorded by surveillance cameras.
The man explained to the police that he wanted to drink and that’s why he stole alcohol. He faces a penalty of up to five years in prison.
