A 46-year-old oncologist, whose body was fished out in Lithuania, drowned, the prosecutor reported. At the same time, the investigation was discontinued. The search for the man lasted from October 2021 to February 2022.
As Grażyna Wawryniuk from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk informed us, the proceedings regarding the disappearance of a doctor whose body was found in February in Klaipeda, Lithuania, were discontinued. – It is not final – emphasizes the prosecutor. Victims may appeal against it within one week of the delivery of the investigative decisions.
As Wawryniuk explains, there is no indication that anyone contributed to the man’s death. – Both the Lithuanian section and our in-depth research did not reveal any evidence of the involvement of third parties in the doctor’s death. The experts indicated drowning as the reason, informed the prosecutor.
The mystery of the death of a famous doctor
Commissioner Michał Sienkiewicz from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gdańsk informed the media On February 11, the body of a 46-year-old man was found in Lithuania. – His identity was confirmed by comparing his DNA profile. The preliminary information provided by the Lithuanian side shows that no third parties contributed to the death of the man – the policeman already said at that time.
46-year-old Michał K., a well-known oncology surgeon from Tricity – worked at the Provincial Cancer Center in Gdańsk, he was last seen on Saturday, October 16, 2021 in the late evening hours at Łokietka Street in Sopot. They have been going on ever since searching for a man.
The investigation related to the disappearance of the man was conducted by the Investigation Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gdańsk under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Gdańsk.
