The police detained a 30-year-old who entered one of the private properties in Sosnowica (Lublin Province) and said that he needed to warm up. He explained that he had argued with the girl and that he had crossed the Wieprz-Krzna canal. When the owner of the house said he would not let him in, he demolished two cars. Then he ran away, losing his shoe along the way.
Everything happened on Sunday (October 3) in the evening on one of the properties in Sosnowica in the Parczewski poviat. – According to the police officers, the young man asked the owner of the property for help in getting home because he had an argument with the girl. What is more, he was frozen after the alleged passage of the Wieprz-Krzna canal and he wanted to warm himself at all costs, at home or in the car – says senior sergeant Ewelina Semeniuk from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Parczewo.
Torn off the door handle, scratched the paint, smashed the back door
When the owner of the property refused to let the stranger into the house, the stranger got angry and began to demolish a nearby Citroen Berlingo. It torn off the door handle, scratched the paintwork, and damaged the left front door and bumper.
– As if that was not enough, in desperation, he also damaged the Mitsubishi located on the property. In addition to the scratches on the hood, he tore out the right mirror and damaged the rear passenger door – adds the policewoman.
He hid in a garage on the adjoining property
The man then ran away, losing his shoe along the way. The policemen quickly found the fugitive. He hid from them in a garage on the neighboring property.
– It turned out that he was a 30-year-old resident of Włodawa County. The man was detained for explanation and put in a police cell. Today he heard the accusation. He partly confessed to him. He explained his behavior by “oblivion” – emphasizes St. Sgt. Semeniuk.
He is facing up to five years imprisonment
The losses caused by the 30-year-old were estimated at PLN 10,000.
– For the crime of destroying property, the Penal Code provides for a penalty of up to five years in prison – our interlocutor points out.
