Child Alert: how does the system work? Who runs it and when?
Child Alert is an alarm system that supports the search for missing or kidnapped children and teenagers (up to 18 years old). The platform is managed by experts from the Missing Persons Center of the National Police Headquarters. The consent to launch must be given by the legal guardian of the person sought. If a decision is made to trigger an alert, the police prepare a special message containing basic information about the missing child and the circumstances of the event.
The message with the child’s image is then sent to the media in Poland and abroad. Then, the nationwide emergency number 995 is also launched, which can be used to provide all information about the missing child.
Child Alert is currently operating in several European countries (e.g GermanyFrance, the NetherlandsGreat Britain and the Czech Republic) and in the area Canada, Mexico and the United States. Poland joined this group on November 20, 2013. Poland joined this group on November 20, 2013.
