According to local media, representatives of the Cape of Good Hope SPCA Animal Organization arrived at Sir Lowry's Pass Road. A spokeswoman for the Belinda Abraham organization reported that experts want to help Mirunda return to the natural environment.

– We are working on a safe and stress -free plan to transfer this wonderful sea mammal to the natural environment. We urge you to avoid this place so that the animal has peace, thanks to which we will be able to carry out a rescue operation – she said.

Mirungi belong to the Fokidae family (phocidae). Their colloquial name – the sea elephant refers to large sizes and males' faces that resemble a trumpet.
