Forests on a mountain in the city center burned in Seoul on Sunday, forcing the evacuation of at least 120 homes. An area of ​​about 30 football fields burned down.

The fire broke out on the slopes of Mount Inwangsan, which is over 300 meters high, around 12 noon local time (around 5 am in Poland) and quickly spread to its northern side. It was extinguished almost completely at 5 p.m. local time, it was reported. The Korea Herald reported that by the time firefighters tackled the raging fire, the fire had engulfed forests the size of about 30 football fields.

The video recorded from the viewpoint on Mount Bugaksan shows clouds of smoke hovering over the mountain, two helicopters involved in the firefighting operation.

An eyewitness told Reuters that multiple helicopters were seen collecting water from the Han River.
