It's worth looking at the sky tonight. Why? Because there is a chance that two independent “space trains” will appear. Check what time the Starlik flights are scheduled to take place.

On Friday evening, a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 22 Starlink satellites took off from the Cape Canaveral base in Florida. Devices belonging to the G10-1 series have entered Earth's orbit and should be visible in the Polish sky next night.

When will Starlinks cross the sky?

Karol Wójcicki, popularizer of astronomy and author of the blog “With your head in the stars”, said that several Starlink flights should be visible in Poland. The most interesting one is the one expected between 11:38 p.m. and 11:43 p.m. Particularly favorable conditions for observing them are expected in the south of the country, where the “space train” will pass quite high in the sky above the southern horizon.

“The satellites will appear near the constellation Virgo and fly below Arcturus, under Hercules, fly through the very center of the Great Summer Triangle and disappear behind the eastern horizon near Pegasus,” explained Wójcicki.

The next Starlink flight is scheduled to take place between November 1 and 1:15. As the astronomy popularizer wrote, this time the satellites will fly north of Warsaw. “The north of the country will see them at the zenith, and the south of Poland will see them low above the northern horizon,” he explained. The last, third flight will take place between 2.45 and 2.48. “It will be a similar flight to the first one, with the difference that it will start more in the southwest and end more in the northeast,” wrote the astronomy popularizer.

Two trains in one night? It's possible

As Karol Wójcicki reported, there is a chance that a second “space train” will appear in the sky. “There is a chance to accumulate” – wrote the author of the blog “With your head in the stars”. Shortly before 1 p.m., another Falcon 9 with the next batch of Starlinks is scheduled to take off. If the launch takes place on time, these satellites will be visible over Poland that night. The preliminary flight times of the second train (G8-8) are 23.16-23.20 and 00.50-00.52.

“There is a chance for two independent space trains in one night over our sky,” wrote Karol Wójcicki. He added that, however, we need to wait for the exact moment of Falcon 9's launch.

Will the weather be good?

The weather may make it difficult to observe “space trains”, because at night there will be moderate to heavy cloudiness with light rain showers moving from west to east. There may also be thunderstorms in the south of the country.
