The Higher Court of the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha (TSJCM) awarded 115,000. Euro in compensation for a family living above a noisy bar in Ciudad Real, who has been complaining for 35 years about the bothersome neighborhood. According to the TSJCM decision published on Friday, the city authorities are to pay the compensation.

In the justification of the decision, the judge indicated that city officials for 35 years ignored the complaints filed by the residents of the building and did not take any action to effectively reduce the noise level. He also pointed out that the town hall has “tools” to force this on the owner of the bar.
The Europa Press agency indicates that in the first instance the court in Ciudad Real turned out to be more favorable to the municipal authorities, obliging them to pay the aggrieved family compensation in the amount of PLN 30 thousand. euro.
