Spain. Andalusia. Neighbors quarrel, tragic finale. Two people are dead, including a police officer

Two people have died in a dispute between conflicted neighbors in the town of Andujar in Andalusia in southern Spain. One of the fatalities is an intervening police officer who was attacked with a knife by a dispute participant.

According to the police statement, the drama took place on Sunday morning on one of the streets of the Spanish city of Andujar in the province of Jaen during an argument involving several neighbors. One of them, according to witnesses, behaved “extremely violent”, brandishing a hammer and a knife in front of the house of one of the residents.

The aggressive man not only disobeyed the commands of the police patrol arriving at the scene of the dispute, but also attacked one of the two officers with a knife, stabbing him in the stomach.

The policeman could not be saved

When the attacker headed towards the second policeman, he fired shots, killing the aggressor on the spot.

Despite the quick rescue operation, the 40-year-old officer could not be saved. The immediate cause of his death was cardiac arrest.

A second officer was also injured in the intervention. According to the Andalusian medical services, his life is not in danger.
