A storm, accompanied by heavy rainfall, hit the city of Pontevedra in northwestern Spain on Monday. The Spanish Guardia Civil reported an accident on road EP-0017. The road collapsed there and “engulfed” the car. A woman in the vehicle sustained injuries.
A sinkhole on the way
The road has been closed since Tuesday morning and repair work is underway. – I don’t know how this girl survived, I have no idea. It’s a shame that the roads here are so poorly maintained, it’s disgraceful,” one witness to the accident told local media.
Violent weather in Spain
