In the Spanish city of Pontevedra in Galicia, heavy rainfall caused one of the roads to collapse. The car fell into the hole. A woman was inside and suffered minor injuries, local authorities said.

A storm, accompanied by heavy rainfall, hit the city of Pontevedra in northwestern Spain on Monday. The Spanish Guardia Civil reported an accident on road EP-0017. The road collapsed there and “engulfed” the car. A woman in the vehicle sustained injuries.

The road has been closed since Tuesday morning and repair work is underway. – I don’t know how this girl survived, I have no idea. It’s a shame that the roads here are so poorly maintained, it’s disgraceful,” one witness to the accident told local media.

Storm Fien hit Spain. The element brought heavy snowfall, heavy rain, and strong winds with gusts up to 130 kilometers per hour. A large part of the orange and red meteorological alerts, i.e. the highest level, were in effect.

Since Monday, more than 600 interventions have been recorded in Galicia alone related to the damage caused by storms. On Tuesday, between 8-12, there were over 100 of them.
