Heavy rains caused flash floods in the Spanish province of Tarragona in Catalonia on Friday. The power of water is shown in a video from the commune of L’Ametlla de Mar.

Roads were flooded and in some places they resembled rushing streams. An eyewitness’s video shows water flowing quickly through one of the streets. The water carried away tables and chairs from the gardens of restaurants and cafes.

Local media reported that over 100 liters of water per square meter fell on L’Ametlla de Mar. The fire brigade responded at least 120 times across the province.

The national weather agency AEMET has issued a severe weather warning for the area for Friday and Saturday.

Heavy rainfall also paralyzed on Friday Madrid. Roads, subways, garages and basements were flooded, and several people were trapped in flooded cars.
