The Spanish police detained a young couple in Ibiza, who – according to the investigation – gave their child psychoactive substances.
The National Police (Polica Nacional) said that the detained parents were 27-year-old citizens Colombia and a 31-year-old man from South Africa. During the investigation, as confirmed by the police in a statement, each of the parents admitted that they regularly consumed drugs.
Cocaine and ketamine detected in the child’s body
The case of giving a child psychoactive substances came to light when a toddler with symptoms of appendicitis was admitted to a hospital in Ibiza on Friday. Laboratory tests confirmed that cocaine and ketamine were present in his system.
“The child was urgently taken away from his parents and sent to a care center,” the Spanish police reported, specifying that both Ibiza residents are accused of child abuse.
