Juliette’s weather system hit Spain and the Balearics on Tuesday. On Thursday in Mallorca, the services cleaned up broken trees and branches.

Mallorca has been hit hard recently storms. It was raining heavily and blowing gustily. On Thursday, the Military Crisis Response Unit (UME) and the Civil Guard worked together to remove damage caused by the weather. For the time being, the services managed to remove and secure the broken trees and branches.

The storms were associated with the passage of a weather system named Juliette. Mallorca, known for its sunny and very warm weather, turned into a winter wonderland in just a few hours. In addition to the snowfall, there was also a drastic drop in temperature. There were places where thermometers showed -2 ​​degrees Celsius.

The Spanish meteorological service AEMET warned of severe weather for several days. Alarms were in place for snow, strong winds and high waves.

In parts of Spain itself, temperatures of -15 degrees Celsius were recorded.
