As a result of the Ryanair workers’ strike on Monday in Spain, 146 flights were canceled or delayed, the Diario Sur website said, explaining that both flights between Spanish cities and international connections were involved.

Strike chaos was observed at most Spanish airports on Monday. Passengers departing and arriving at Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca airports were the most affected.

The organizers of the protest estimate that 1,900 Spanish Ryanair employees, mainly members of the cabin crew, are taking part in the strike. They demand, inter alia, increase in the number of employees and wage increases of several percent.

Diario Sur notes that Monday’s strike, which will last until Thursday, is the result of a disagreement between airline authorities and USO and SITCPLA trade unions, representing workers.
