Spain, Salamanca. 40 wedding guests with symptoms of poisoning, bride’s grandmother is dead. The authorities are investigating the matter

In the Spanish province of Salamanca, the epidemiological surveillance services are investigating possible food poisoning of about 40 people who attended a wedding in the local municipality of Peñaranda de Bracamonte, the daily “El Mundo” reported. After the wedding, the bride’s grandmother died, but it cannot be confirmed that it was poisoning that was the cause of death.

The newspaper El Mundo, citing sources in the provincial government, reported that about 40 people with symptoms of food poisoning had to receive medical attention.

According to the newspaper, the bride’s grandmother died after the ceremony. Epidemiological services are investigating whether her death is related to the possible food poisoning of some of the wedding guests.
