A “space train” crossed the sky over Spain on Monday. The form of a bright, dashed line was taken by a group of Starlink satellites, which were sent into orbit by SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk. See what the phenomenon looked like in the video.

SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket launched 55 Starlink satellites into orbit on Sunday, February 12, the company announced on its website. The “space train” crossed the sky over Spain. A bright line of satellites appeared at 7.45pm on Monday. It was seen, among others, in Madrid, as well as on Cape Matxitxako in the Basque Country.

Starlink satellites are placed in orbit around the Earth by the American company SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk. The constellation is to provide Internet access services all over the Earth. The aim of the project is to provide access to the network anywhere on the planet.

As Reuters notes, the satellites orbit the Earth at an altitude of about 550 kilometers. A total of 3,823 satellites have been launched, of which 3,198 are currently active.
