Violent storms hit the Spanish province of Castellon, located in the east of the country. The lightning was accompanied by heavy rain. There was also hail. After the rainfall, local streets turned into raging rivers. Firefighters carried out several interventions.
Storms passed through the Castellon province in eastern Spain on Tuesday evening. The phenomena were accompanied by intense rainfall and hailstorms. Footage posted on social media shows water gushing down the street, cascading through cracks in the brick building.

Firefighters’ interventions
Heavy rainfall turned streets in Castellon province into raging torrents. Due to the rainfall, firefighters had to carry out six interventions – wrote the Spanish portal castellonaldia.elmundo.es. Their activities consisted mainly of pumping water from flooded houses, basements and streets.
The Spanish meteorological agency AEMET issued level 1 warnings on Tuesday storms and downpours for the southern part of the province. The alerts remained in effect until Wednesday.
