MADRID — Spain is stripping deceased former Chilean chief Gen. Augusto Pinochet of a Spanish navy honor bestowed on him greater than 40 years in the past by the nation’s former dictator, Gen. Francisco Franco.
The Cupboard of Spain’s performing authorities introduced Tuesday that the Cross of Navy Benefit, an award for gallantry or advantage granted to Pinochet in 1975, was being withdrawn.
