Storm Blas has arrived in Valencia. It is blowing strongly, the waves on the coast are more than six meters high. Weather warnings apply.
The weather situation in the Balearic Islands is improving, where on Sunday in Majorca the gusts were blowing at a speed of over 120 kilometers per hour. The ports in Menorca resumed operations after five days.
The storm Blas on Wednesday makes itself felt in Valencia. Along the coast of this Spanish region, strong wind warnings have been in place for the second consecutive day. First Level Alerts issued by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) will also be valid on Thursday.
Several meters long waves
Waves of 6.5 meters were recorded in the port of Valencia on Wednesday morning. Generally, however, they should be between three and four meters.
Valencia also struggles with downpours. The most rain – more than 26 liters of water per square meter – fell on Wednesday in the municipalities of La Vall de Laguar and Murla in the province of Alicante.
