Olyanovska, 31, served a four-year doping ban between 2015 and 2019. She mentioned she was thrilled to have received the medal for Ukraine because the nation has been within the grips of Russia’s invasion for the previous two years.

“It’s a very emotional second for me,” the Ukrainian athlete mentioned. “After all, I used to be drained within the final kilometre and final metres, however I needed to win this medal for my nation a lot.”
