Spartak coach explodes after defeat by Wisła. He names the culprits

Spartak Trnava coach Michal Gasparik summed up the match with Wisła Kraków at the post-match press conference. – This game looked completely different from how we had planned it – he began. – In fact, we devoted the whole week to prepare for it and start it with full concentration. However, it was clear that the pitch verified it negatively. We could see the lack of movement, bad combination play, a lot of individual mistakes, especially in the first half. Then came the loss of the ball and a senseless penalty kick. Of course, it must be emphasized that Wisła played great, played great game. And secondly, she took full advantage of her home stadium. Just like we did a week ago ago we used the advantage of our own stadium – he emphasized. – The second half was unfortunately a continuation of what we saw in the first. And this despite the changes – he stated.

– In extra time, when we finally caught our breath, we conceded a goal after a corner kick, but despite everything we managed to get back on our feet. We scored a goal and it went to penalties. In penalties, everything that happened in the match could have been forgotten, because we could have erased it all and written a different story. We had the first “match point” in those penalties, but we didn't use it. We had another one, but the referee cancelled it, but I must emphasize above all that Wisła definitely deserved to advance – he added.

Gasparik also diagnosed the problem of his team. – In our case, the main failures were the older, experienced, key players who could not keep up with the rivals – Gasparik openly admitted.
