Yesterday, an earthquake began in the entire segment of the secret services, and it will end after Donald Tusk’s return from Brussels – said tvn24.pl journalist Robert Zieliński. As he noted, “the Prime Minister has freedom of movement in the context of the heads of the four secret services.” He added that the situation with the Central Anticorruption Bureau is “slightly different and more problematic.”

The Parliamentary Committee for Secret Services issued a positive opinion on Wednesday Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s requests to dismiss the heads of the Internal Security Agency, the Foreign Intelligence Agency, the Central Anticorruption Bureau, the Military Counterintelligence Service and the Military Intelligence Service. This is one of the elements needed for personal changes in these positions.

The case was commented on TVN24 by tvn24.pl journalist Robert Zieliński, who wrote about the personnel revolution in the secret services on Wednesday morning.

– Yesterday, an earthquake began in the entire segment of the secret services, and it will end after the Prime Minister’s return Donald Tusk from Brussels, once new heads are introduced to, apparently, all five secret services, i.e. the Internal Security Agency, the Foreign Intelligence Agency, the Military Intelligence Service, the Military Counterintelligence Service and CBA – Zieliński stated.

When asked about the president’s opinion on this matter, Zieliński said that there was a case in the past where the lack of the president’s opinion was not an obstacle to appointing the head of one of the secret services.

– Then the lawyers’ interpretation was that the president’s lack of an opinion is also an opinion, that’s how it was interpreted. Either way, according to the law, a negative or positive opinion does not matter. The Prime Minister has freedom of movement here in the context of the heads of the four secret services, Zieliński emphasized.

However, he added that “the situation is slightly different and more problematic with this service, which is most often mentioned as the most seriously politicized, as a certain machine, an instrument for grinding political opponents, into which the Law and Justice government has turned the Central Anticorruption Bureau.”

– Because in this one case, the head of the CBA is appointed for a four-year term of office, which will end only in spring next year – he added.
