Two individuals have been arrested as a part of an investigation into spikings in Nottingham.

A person has additionally been arrested in Lincoln as a part of an inquiry into comparable allegations there.

Sky News reported how women were feeling ill and blacking out after allegedly being attacked with needles in cities akin to Nottingham, Liverpool, Cardiff, Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle.

The 2 males in Nottingham – aged 18 and 19 – have been detained on Friday morning on suspicion of conspiracy to manage poison with intent to injure, annoy or aggrieve.

Superintendent Kathryn Craner, of Nottinghamshire Police, stated: “I want to reiterate that these arrests haven’t been made in reference to a particular case or incident reported to us over the previous couple of weeks of each drink spiking and spiking by a needle.”

The person in Lincoln, aged 35, was arrested within the early hours of Friday morning on suspicion of possession of medication with intent to manage them.

Police stated the suspected offence “would not contain a needle”.
