The police are looking for a man who escaped from the courtroom of the District Court in Stalowa Wola. Accused of drug offenses, he was supposed to take advantage of the officers’ inattention. – We treat our activities as a priority, we announced the alarm of our unit – said aspirant Przemysław Paleń from the County Police Headquarters in Stalowa Wola.

The arrested man escaped during a hearing in the District Court in Stalowa Wola (Podkarpacie) around 12.30.

Police: jumped over the railings and ran out

– During the trial, at the court’s order, the policemen removed the man’s handcuffs. The man took advantage of the moment of inattention, jumped over the wooden railings and ran out of the court. The policemen gave chase, but these actions did not lead to the arrest of the man. We treat our activities as a priority, we announced the alarm of our unit. Police officers from the police riot department in Rzeszów were directed to help – said in an interview with TVN24 aspirant Przemysław Paleń from the County Police Headquarters in Stalowa Wola.

The aspirant reported that the man is a 31-year-old resident of the Stalowa Wola poviat. He was brought to court from a prison where he is serving a prison sentence for drug offenses.

Police officers from the KWP department will now explain whether the officers who brought the accused to court followed all safety procedures. – During the incident, there were four officers in the room with two escorts at their disposal – said Paleń.

The search for the accused who, according to the police, was not armed is underway. So far, the uniforms are not publishing his image.
