Tragic accident in Stara Sobótka near Łęczyca (Łódź Voivodeship). The driver of the passenger car did not give way and drove into the path of an oncoming truck. According to the police, the 35-year-old died on the spot, and the injured 40-year-old truck driver was taken to hospital.
The incident occurred on Friday around 8.25 a.m. on the Kłodawa-Topola Królewska district road. The services received information about a collision between a passenger car and a truck. According to junior brigadier Jędrzej Pawlak, press officer of the provincial commander of the State Fire Service in Łódź, a 35-year-old man was killed in the accident and a 40-year-old man was injured
He failed to give way and drove under the truck
– Preliminary information shows that the driver of a passenger car at an intersection with a stop sign did not obey the sign and drove onto the road with priority right into the path of an oncoming truck. The passenger car driver died on the spot, the truck driver was taken to hospital with injuries, said Asp. pcs. Mariusz Kowalski from the police in Łęczyca.
The Kłodawa – Topola Królewska district road is to be blocked at least until 1 p.m. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
