Stargard police received information that a 39-year-old wanted for various thefts was in the park. At the sight of the officers, the man tried to escape and jumped into a nearby river. After a short chase, he was detained. He has already been taken to prison.
The incident took place in Jagielloński Park in Stargard. The police received information that a wanted man might be there. When the officers arrived at the scene, the 39-year-old began to run away at the sight of the approaching officers.
Aspirant Justyna Siwarska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Stargard, said that during the escape, the man jumped into a nearby river and tried to escape. – The man's behavior astonished the policemen pursuing him, but the 39-year-old did not manage to escape far. After a short chase, the officers detained him – she added.

The man was wanted for shoplifting and bicycle thefts, which he allegedly committed in the Stargard district. The 39-year-old has already been sent to prison.
