Did you miss the last flights of the Starlink satellites, i.e. the “star train”? This evening there will be another opportunity to see this phenomenon. What time to look at the sky and will the weather be good for observations? Check.
This evening you will again have the opportunity to see the so-called star train – Starlink flight. A new series of these satellites launched from Florida this morning.
When to look at the sky?
– You can start looking out around 5:36 p.mjust 10 degrees above the western horizon. At this point the train may be extremely bright – just like it was during the first G10-13 flybys. Find a place with an exposed horizon – said Karol Wójcicki, popularizer of astronomy and author of the profile “With your head in the stars”, on social media.
As Wójcicki said, the flight will end at approximately 5:38 p.m at an altitude of 60 degrees above the horizon in the constellation Cepheus.
“There, the satellites will enter the Earth's shadow and suddenly disappear. The phenomenon should be perfectly visible over the whole of Poland. Due to the extremely early time from release in orbit, the G10-13 group will be very compact and bright – this is the most spectacular form of flight” – he added.
What about the weather? There is a chance for a “hole in the sky”
According to tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek, in the west and south there will be a chance to observe the phenomenon – the cloud cover should “break” here. In places in the east and in the center of the country, clouds will also swirl and “holes in the sky” may appear.
– The best viewing conditions will be in the foothills and mountains, with sunny and cloudless weather, and the sky will be clearly visible – added the weather forecaster.
