State of emergency at the border

Since September 2, due to the migration pressure in the border zone with Belarus – in 183 towns of the Podlaskie and Lubelskie voivodships – a state of emergency has been in force. It was introduced for 30 days under the ordinance of President Andrzej Duda, issued at the request of the Council of Ministers. In early October, the state of emergency was extended for another 60 days.

Among others, NGO activists and journalists are not allowed to enter the state of emergency. This means that all information in this zone comes from the authorities and services.
