Dozens of people protested in the center of Białystok against the government’s policy regarding the migration crisis on the border with Belarus. One of the participants of the demonstration pointed out that citizens cannot “simply live, sleep and function in peace, seeing that people condemned to inhuman death in hunger and cold on our border, right next to us, several dozen kilometers from us, are still dying.”
On Thursday evening in Wrocław there was a demonstration in defense of migrants in connection with the situation on the border with Belarus. In Białystok, several dozen people marched through the city center to the consulate of Belarus.
– Each of us should ask ourselves whether we agree with what is on the border with Belarus. Does he agree that people are dying there? To say at home in front of the mirror whether I, as a Pole, gave my democratically elected authorities permission to do so, so that people would die on our eastern border – said one of the participants of the demonstration in Wrocław.
On the other hand, a resident of Białystok, who took part in the “Borders of Humanity” protest, stressed that due to the situation on the border with Belarus, he feels “angry at the helplessness that we are ruled by heartless people.” – If they are able to condemn children to death, they are actually able to sentence each of us to death and I do not agree to it – he emphasized.
One of the women pointed out that citizens cannot “simply live, sleep and function in peace, seeing that people condemned to inhuman death in hunger and cold on our border, right next to us, several dozen kilometers from us, are still dying.”
