In a garage, police officers found a stolen BMW car and parts of other cars stolen in Great Britain and the Czech Republic. The 46-year-old shop owner was charged with receiving stolen goods.
– A few days ago, criminals from Leipzig established a car workshop where the stolen BMW was supposed to be located – informs Asp. Monika Karasińska, press officer of the Leipzig police. – During the searches of the property, they found and secured a BMW X6 and parts and bodywork from a BMW model 320I M Sport from 2019, which were stolen in the UK. In addition, as a result of checks and inspections carried out by officers from the Forensic Laboratory of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Radom, other car parts and equipment from several other BMW vehicles were also found in the workshop. These parts came from the demolition of cars that were stolen in Great Britain and the Czech Republic – he adds.
The 46-year-old owner of the workshop was charged with receiving receipts. He is punishable by up to five years in prison.
Article 291. § 1. Whoever acquires an item obtained by means of a prohibited act or helps to dispose of it, or accepts or helps to hide this item, shall be subject to the penalty of deprivation of liberty for a term of between 3 months and 5 years.
