Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued third-degree hydrological warnings for the Polish coast of the Baltic Sea.
“Due to the forecasted meteorological situation and the high filling of the Baltic Sea (544 cm – January 10, 2025), water levels on the coast are expected to increase above warning levels and locally above alert levels,” he writes in the release. Storm on the Baltic Sea
IMWM warns about a strong storm forecast for the South-Eastern Baltic Sea. According to forecasters, wind gusts may reach 10 on the Beaufort scale (88-102 kilometers per hour) or 11 on the Beaufort scale (103-117 km/h).
The storm is also expected to rage in the South Baltic Sea. There, winds may reach gusts of 8 on the Beaufort scale (63-75 km).
