The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns of strong winds that may appear on Tuesday in southern regions of the country. Gusts may reach speeds of up to 70 km/h.
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued a first degree warning about strong winds.
IMWM warnings – strong wind
First-degree strong wind warnings apply in the following provinces:
- Lower Silesianin Kłodzko County;
- Opolein Nysa County;
- Silesianin the following counties: Bielsk, Bielsko-BialaCieszyn, Żywiec;
- Lesser Polandin the following counties: Sucha, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Nowy Sącz, Gorlice;
- Lublinin the following counties: Jasło, Krosno, Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady.
In the Lower Silesia, Opole and Silesian voivodeships the warnings will be in force from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and in the remaining voivodeships – from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In the above regions, strong winds are forecast with an average speed of up to 35 kilometres per hour, with gusts of up to 70 km/h, from the south and southwest.
What are the first level IMWM warnings?
Conditions are predicted to be conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and threaten health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from conducting activities in the area of the threat, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation.
