Strzelce police stopped a driver who was not wearing a seat belt. During the inspection, they detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the 43-year-old. A breathalyzer test showed that the man had almost two per mille of alcohol in his body. His driving license was suspended and his car confiscated.

The incident took place on November 20 in Strzelce Opolskie. Traffic police noticed a driver who was not wearing a seat belt, so they stopped him for inspection.

“The policewoman detected a strong odor of alcohol from the driver. A breathalyzer test confirmed the police officers' suspicions. The 43-year-old had almost two per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air,” we read in the police statement.

The man tried to explain that he “was going to replace the tires in his car because he didn't want to be surprised by winter.”

The officers detained the driver's driving license and began the procedure of confiscating the vehicle. The man may face a driving ban, a high fine or even a prison sentence of up to three years.
