Heavy snowstorms caught many drivers off guard in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in northern California. Gas station parking lots along Interstate 80 became an especially popular spot on Saturday.
Heavy snowfall and wind resulted in very poor visibility on the roads. There were many accidents and the highway was closed in some places.
