A few days ago, Borys Kwiatkowski, goalkeeper of Victoria Sulejówek, died. Now the club has provided information about the footballer’s funeral and the circumstances of his death.
We wrote about the footballer’s death on tvnwarszawa.pl on January 3. His club announced his death on social media. Two days later, the circumstances of the goalkeeper’s death were described, citing his relatives.
“We wanted to rest and go skiing, but it ended so tragically. On the first day, Borys felt bad, weak, had a fever. On the second day, we went to the doctor and his ears were fine, but he couldn’t sleep at night because of his cough. In the morning, I called ambulance because he started breathing heavily (he was on contact, he went down the stairs to the ambulance on his own, I thought it was pneumonia),” they wrote in the post.
Borys Kwiatkowski was admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Jelenia Góra, where he was to be connected to a ventilator. “His condition was deteriorating at an alarming rate, so the next day, i.e. December 29, he was transported to a hospital in Wrocław, where he was put on ECMO (lung and kidney function was replaced) and he passed away on December 31. Septic shock,” the club reported.
Information about the footballer’s funeral was also provided. It will take place on January 13 at 1 p.m. in the church in Zduńska Wola (Kościelna 20).
