It was thought that the parity threshold was triggered by the efficiency of the Chevrolet Camaros in comparison with the Ford Mustangs on the Bathurst 1000 on Sunday, opening the door for a proper overview.

That has now been confirmed, with Supercars saying that “adjustment concerns” haven’t commenced.

These changes are adjustments to the Mustang that Ford tried to push by way of earlier than Bathurst and can now probably happen forward of the Gold Coast 600.

“Supercars can affirm that, in accordance with the principles of the Parity Evaluation System, adjustment concerns have now commenced,” mentioned a spokesperson.

“The Head of Motorsport (HoM) has supplied the Supercars Fee with an replace following a complete overview of the info collected in the course of the Repco Bathurst 1000.

The parity set off was the purpose of rivalry with Ford’s push for a brand new aero package deal forward of the Bathurst 1000.

Having not been formally hit, adjustments relied on approval from Chevrolet and its groups – which unsurprisingly was rejected.

That meant the brand new elements, which had been manufactured earlier than Bathurst, could not be fitted to the automobiles.

It seems now to be a formality that they are going to be green-lit for the Gold Coast, which suggests the Mustangs will characteristic a revised entrance bar and a repositioned, and wider, rear wing with no gurney flap.

Regardless of the alternations being denied at Bathurst, Anton De Pasquale registered a podium end in third, recording his third top-three end of the season. The end result follows a 3rd place at Sydney Motorsport Park and a win – the one on-track success for a Mustang this season – on the Townsville 500.
