A body was found in a forest in Boekeberg near Malmoe, Swedish police said. Local media claim that it is the body of Beata R., 32, who went missing in September this year.
“All I can say is that we ran into a body,” said local police spokesman Rickard Lindqvist. According to a source cited by the Sydsvenskan newspaper, it is a body Polish woman Beata R. The information about the place where the body was located was reported to have been disclosed by the woman’s 50-year-old husband, who was in custody on suspicion of abduction.
The body was in the Boekeberg Forest, about 20 kilometers from Malmoe.
The disappearance of a Polish woman
According to the media, the couple was in the process of divorce and the woman sought sole custody of the children and the court banning her husband from contact because of the threats and violence she had suffered from him. However, the application for legal protection was rejected.
In late September, police conducted a large-scale search for Beata R. in the Malmoe Oxie district, but the search was unsuccessful. Elsewhere, at a gas station in Ystad, the children found a purse that belonged to a Polish woman. There was a telephone and a credit card inside.
