A 15-year-old boy was killed and three other people were injured in a shooting in a shopping center on the outskirts of Stockholm on Saturday night. The police gave chase and two suspects were arrested.

A shooting with an automatic weapon took place on Saturday evening in the Farsta district on the outskirts of Stockholm. According to witnesses, two people shot.

According to local media, the fatal victim is a 15-year-old boy, and the injured are another 15-year-old, a 45-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman. They were transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital.

After an hour-long manhunt with the use of helicopters and dogs, two people in their 20s were detained on the highway. According to the media, both detainees are injured.

The motive of the perpetrators is unknown. An investigation has been launched.

Increased violence

In recent years, Sweden has been dealing with a surge in violence. There have already been 144 shootings there this year, including 52 in Stockholm. In total, 18 people have died in them so far, Deutsche Welle reports. According to police data, in 2022 there were 391 shootings in the country, 62 of which ended in death.
