A truck rolled off the Skane ferry, which was sailing from Germany to Sweden on Saturday, and hung from the vessel’s side. The vehicle was secured and, despite the incident, the ship safely reached the Swedish port of Trelleborg.

Joel Johansson of the fire brigade’s emergency services said the vehicle was “secured with straps by the ship’s crew”. “There was a slight fuel leak at the site, the tank was drained,” Johansson said.

According to the newspaper “Expressen”, the incident was caused by the error of the driver who forgot to apply the parking brake.

Stena Line’s Skane had 299 passengers and 45 crew members on board, but no one was injured.
