A 53-year-old driving a farm tractor, who was stopped by Sucha police officers for a road check in Słodkówek (West Pomeranian Voivodeship), had two per mille of alcohol in his system. In a conversation with officers, he explained that he wanted to hydrate. The man had an active driving ban. He was detained and will now be tried in an expedited manner before a court.

The incident occurred on July 10 in Słodkówek. Police officers from Suchań stopped a driver of a Ford agricultural tractor for a road check, whose behavior on the road could indicate prior alcohol consumption.

“The officers' suspicions were confirmed. A 53-year-old resident of Stargard County was behind the wheel. The test showed that he had two per mille of alcohol in his system,” we read in a police statement.

He had previously driven under the influence of alcohol.

Aspirant Justyna Siwarska, press officer for the District Police Commander in Stargard, said the man tried to explain it with the heat and the need to hydrate. – That's why he decided to drink a few cold beers – she added.

After checking the man in police computer systems, the officers learned that the man had an active ban on driving all motor vehicles for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The police have detained the 53-year-old. The man will be held accountable for his actions in court in an expedited procedure.
