On Sunday late afternoon, a 49-year-old Volkswagen driver drove into parked cars in front of one of the blocks in Świdnica (Lower Silesia), damaging 11 vehicles. According to police, he had more than two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
The incident happened around 6:45 p.m. on Marcinkowskiego Street. It is a road running through a housing estate with blocks of flats, intersected by pedestrian crossings every now and then. Despite this – as recorded by surveillance cameras – the driver of the Volkswagen Passat was rushing at breakneck speed.
– The 49-year-old hit vehicles parked on Marcinkowskiego Street. A total of 11 vehicles were damaged. No one was hurt as a result of the incident. The man had more than two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system, he was also not injured. He was detained and is staying in the Świdnica detention center until he sobers up – informs Magdalena Ząbek, spokeswoman for the Świdnica police.
