Świdnica. Barriers on the bicycle path

Yellow barriers appeared along the pavement and bicycle road at ul. Kazimierz Renewor in Świdnica. Mateusz Jadach from the Municipal Office in Świdnica explains that the barriers were created after receiving applications from the police, city ​​guardresidents and a nearby enterprise. The city applied for a change in traffic organization in this area to the Poviat Eldership, which agreed to erect barriers.

– First of all, we wanted the safety of people who move on this bicycle path, but also people who use the entry to the property of one of the enterprises. The police pointed out that there were incidents in which cyclists or drivers of scooters rode at too high speed, sliding off the hill on the route of the bicycle path, and therefore we decided to install such physical barricades that simply force the speed of speed – informs Mateusz Jadach from the City Hall in Świdnica.

We asked the inhabitants of Świdnica what they think about new barriers. – I have to get off the bike, go, and then I can go. I once wanted to pass them and I have chosen the shoulder – says one of the residents.

– It's idiocy. I am terribly surprised. We will not even go sideways, it will be hard, it is better to go along the street – says the cyclist from Świdnica.

– You have to stand and go, because it's hard to outline. I do not support this, I think that the solutions should be thought out, not the obstacles themselves – says another resident.
