An unusual incident occurred at the District Court in Świdnica (Lower Silesia). A resident of one of the towns near Wałbrzych took files from the office of the president of the court. He was fined.
A man who was a party to a case conducted by a family court met with the president of the District Court in Świdnica. After the conversation, he left the office, “incidentally” taking his files that were lying on the table. After some time, court employees noticed that some documents were missing.
– The surveillance was reviewed and a man was noticed leaving with files – says prosecutor Marek Rusin, head of the District Prosecutor's Office in Świdnica, in an interview with “Gazeta Wyborcza”, which was the first to describe the case.
The president of the court reported the theft to the police, who quickly identified the perpetrator. During a search of his apartment, she recovered documents. The man confessed, explaining to the police that he thought he could take the files because of the note saying “to be returned.”
The prosecutor submitted a request to the court to fine the man without holding a hearing.
The files are the property of the court and cannot be removed.
