Police officers from Świdnik (Lublin Province) stopped a 42-year-old driver who was driving on an expressway at nearly 240 kilometers per hour, when the speed limit is 120. The driver was overtaking other vehicles. He was recorded by the video recorder of an unmarked police car.

The police officers were traveling in an unmarked police car equipped with a camera when their attention was drawn to the driving style of the BMW driver.

“On the S-12 road, where the speed limit is 120 km/h, the 42-year-old was driving at a speed of almost 240 km/h,” wrote Staff Sergeant Elwira Domaradzka from the District Police Headquarters in Świdnik in a statement.

The man was detained. He was given a fine of PLN 2,500 and 15 penalty points.

“He took driving on an expressway too literally,” the policewoman notes, appealing to drivers to be sensible.
