Świebodzin. He robbed church piggy banks just after Christmas. They already have it

Police officers from Świebodzin (Lubusz Voivodeship) detained a man who broke into a church and stole money from piggy banks. He didn't enjoy the loot for long – the day after reporting the theft, it was already in the hands of the police. He's a known “cashier” to her.

On Friday, December 27 in the afternoon, police officers from Świebodzin received a report of a burglary in one of the churches in the city, which occurred during the Christmas period. The perpetrator got into church money boxes, from which he stole over PLN 2,000.

As part of the inquiry, the police on Saturday determined that the person behind the crime may be a resident of Świebodzin with an extensive criminal history, known for his penchant for robbing all kinds of money stashes.

The guessing turned out to be correct. – On the same day, the patrol determined his possible whereabouts and detained the wanted man. The 43-year-old admitted to the crimes he was accused of, says senior officer Marcin Ruciński, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Świebodzin.

He will be released from prison no sooner than in a year

It turned out that the man was wanted to serve a prison sentence for previous crimes.

Now he faces up to 10 years in prison for burglary. – The man will wait in custody for the case, where he is serving a one-year prison sentence for which he was wanted – says Ruciński.
