He holed up in Western Europe, he came to Poland occasionally. He put a lot of effort into not being visible to anyone. The “head hunters” took up the search for the man.
A 26-year-old from the Gorzów poviat (Lubuskie Voivodeship) heard the sentence for smuggling large amounts of drugs. As the court decided, he was to spend two years in prison. – For this case, he was detained in March 2019 by criminals from the provincial headquarters. The man, who wanted to avoid imprisonment, left Poland and from October 2020 he was hiding in Western European countries – informs the young asp. Mateusz Sławek from the press office of the Lubuskie Police.
He wasn’t paying attention to himself
The police do not hide that the 26-year-old was very effective in his actions. He avoided public places and tried very hard not to draw attention to himself. That is why the search was undertaken by “head hunters” from Lubuskie, that is, officers from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gorzów Wielkopolski. They have extensive experience in detaining people who successfully hide from the justice system.
– Thanks to the intense and effective operational work, it was possible to plan its arrest. This was to happen in Poland, where the man was supposed to come for a few days. As soon as it happened, the policemen waited for the right moment to use the element of surprise and prevent a possible escape attempt to stop the 26-year-old, explains Sławek.
Ultimately, the man was detained in Świebodzin on Tuesday. – “Headhunters” surprised him when he decided to take a break while traveling by car. The man was pulled out of the car, detained and taken to the police arrest, from where he was sent to a penitentiary, where he will spend the next two years – adds Sławek.
