The five -year female bison was found dead in the Świerczyna Forest District. The animal was found by a random person who informed the West Pomeranian Nature Society about the case, which arrived and confirmed the death of a mammal.

Maciej Tracz from ZTP said that the female had a visible gunshot wound on the front limb, which was confirmed by the autopsy. – We didn't find any missile, but in the X -ray photo we have taken, one of the bones was hit by a bullet. In the second, however, we found wounds dotted with fragments of the missile – he explained. “It is likely that damage to the shards caused a fracture of the other limb,” he added.

According to information provided by ZTP Żubrzyca, it was a middle -aged cow and very good condition. From age, it can also be concluded that she was already the mother of two calves.
