The Świętokrzyskie police informed about an incident involving a 51-year-old resident of Radom. A man using a stolen bicycle stole a car in the Jędrzejów poviat, and then – while escaping in a stolen car – he did not pay for the fuel. He has been detained and will spend two months in detention, the District Police Headquarters in Jędrzejów said.
On Monday afternoon, the officer on duty at the Jędrzejów headquarters received a notification, which showed that a Renault vehicle worth about PLN 3,000 was stolen from one of the premises in the Sobków commune. As the applicant stated, an unknown man came to his property by bicycle and got into his vehicle.
The perpetrator, leaving the bicycle in place, drove the car in an unknown direction. Soon it turned out that the man went to Krakow, where he refueled at one of the gas stations for nearly PLN 100, and then left without paying the bill, the police from Świętokrzyskie Province informed on Friday.
He stole a bicycle, a car and fuel
The 51-year-old man was detained by officers from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Jędrzejów. Police officers from Miechów also participated in the arrest.
In the late afternoon, the officer on duty at the Jędrzejów headquarters received another notification. It was about the theft of a bicycle left at the station PKP in the commune of Sobków. It turned out that with this equipment the 51-year-old came to the property, where he had stolen the car. This means that the Radoman stole a bicycle, then a car, and then fuel.
The detained man has already heard the charges. The court decided to impose a preventive measure on the 51-year-old in the form of pre-trial detention for two months, and he is facing up to five years in prison. The stolen vehicles have already returned to their owners, the police said.
